Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2010 is Microsoft’s powerful and easy-to-use presentation program. This new version of PowerPoint incorporates some new features and connectivity options in an effort to make collaboration and production as easy as possible. This Foundation level is intended to help all novice computers get up to speed quickly. This manual will also help more experienced users who have little to no experience with PowerPoint and the ribbon interface.

Highlights of the course include information on using the new sections feature, a complete overview of the PowerPoint tabs, information on how to use PowerPoint templates to get started quickly, and details on various slide show tools.

 

Starting Out

To begin, you will learn the basics of PowerPoint. You will also learn how to create a basic slide show and how to get help in PowerPoint.
Understanding and Customizing the PowerPoint Interface

Next, participants will closely examine the ribbon interface, including the Quick Access toolbar and how to customize the command tabs.

 

Tab Overview (Parts One and Two)

The next two sections cover each tab in the PowerPoint interface in depth, including the Developer tab and contextual tabs.
Creating Presentations

This section will go deeper into creating presentations. Topics will include using templates, managing text boxes, using editing tools, and formatting text.

 

Printing and Viewing Your Presentation

The final section of this course will cover PowerPoint’s viewing and printing tools.
