Air Combat Command, Langley AFB

Air Combat Command, with headquarters at Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Va., is a major command. It was created June 1, 1992, by combining Strategic Air Command and Tactical Air Command. ACC is the primary provider of air combat forces to America’s warfighting commanders.

LAN/WAN Support

 

MMS provides HQ ACC/A7 with LAN/WAN contractor support for computer operations, LAN management and maintenance, customer software services, LAN component and PC installation, network configuration and troubleshooting, for approximately 350 personnel, and approximately 500 computers on both classified and unclassified networks.

Also, we operate and maintain all associated peripheral equipment to include scanners, local and network printers, networking equipment, backup systems, Storage Area Networks, Servers, PDAs, Office Automation Software (Ghost, PartitionMagic), Blackberries, audio/video editing equipment, Video Teleconferencing Systems, and all PKI related equipment.

 

Synopsis of C&A Support on LAFB:

Support ACA activities for ACC/A7, specifically when it comes to AF 8510.01 reg. The list is a reference to these

  • Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8500.01E, Information Assurance (IA)
  • DoD Instruction (DoDI) 8500.2, Information Assurance (IA) Implementation
  • DoDI 8510.01, DoD Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process
  • (DIACAP)
  • DoDD 8570.01, Information Assurance Training, Certification, and Workforce
  • Management

All MMS LAFB ACC/A7 personnel support the above mentioned regulation by being assigned the IAO title. We process IA Certification local housing (meaning actual certificates), Instruct all users in IAO awareness and responsibilities and work in tandem with the base level IA Office to ensure that all regulations and expectations are being met according to the AF stipulated regulations.

 

We also do accreditation packages for SIPR and NIPR.

 

At Langley, MMS uses both the ACA and NonACA Model. We are at the Implement and Test Security Configuration destination. This is the level where all IAOs are staged for support.

All this is done while ensuring that work progresses to meet required reasonable deadlines for mission accomplishment and respond to adjustments in processing due to changes in priorities and due dates.aca-nonaca

Web Applications and Reachback

Additionally support for ACC/A7 Staff web applications and reachback is also performed. MMS provides systems & application support, technical architecture and enterprise subject matter expertise to augment the full-time onsite ACC staff. The purpose of this task order is to provide all services, support, and expertise required to provide ACC A7 Staff web applications and reachback support in the case of unforeseen or changing conditions including, but not limited to: heightened tempo in Forward Operating Locations (FOLs), technology upgrades, new data requirements from higher headquarters or mission realignment, migration or realignment of web-applications to align with organizational changes, and support for non-core applications and services. This task order will ensure the sustainment of all existing services, applications and capabilities and address challenges relating to technical issues, growth of systems and data, and the continued evolution of the programs to assist with day to day operation of IT systems and applications with appropriate reachback support to ensure the day to day operations of IT systems and applications.
