MMS provided information technology services to the Houston Independent School District. Here are some examples of services we have provided.

Dedicated Managed Firewall Service:

Dedicated Managed Firewall service using Cisco PIX 501 dedicated firewall with two network interfaces, up to 60 Mbit/sec text throughput and up to 10 simultaneous VPN connections. Included initial setup, ongoing 24×7 support and monitoring.

Dedicated Managed Server:

MMS provided Dedicated Managed Servers. This entailed software and hardware installation, live monitoring, OS and Domain configuration, and tape backups.

Network Services:

MMS provided internet and local area network services. This included a set data connection with SLAs for speed and uptime, Basic Managed Firewall Service which uses IP packet filtering with Access Control Lists (ACLs) to provide a basic level of network-based security, a secure VPN, and 11 public IP addresses.

Server Load Balancing Services:

MMS provided Server Load Balancing Services to aid in full utilization of server resources without slowdowns or interruptions

Intel based blade server with 2 x 3.0Ghz processors, 4Gb RAM, 2 x 145Gb Ultra-SCSI Hot-swappable drives (RAID 1), Windows 2003 Server operating system, SQL Server 2005 (License provided by HISD)

2 Dedicated Web Servers

Intel based blade server with 2 x 3.0Ghz processors, 2Gb RAM, 2 x 145Gb Ultra-SCSI Hot-swappable drives (RAID 1), Windows 2003 Server operating system, IIS 6.0

Additional Services

CISCO CSS Load Balancing for 3 domain groups (additional groups available)

500GB committed data transfer burstable up to 100gb data transfer rate with no overage charges. Not subject to 95th percentile billing
Hardware based dedicated CISCO PIX firewall (ACL based CISCO firewall available at a lower cost)
Nightly Backup of servers, weekly full, nightly incremental rotation
